500.000 Dh – Dar 2278 – Zkak lbgal, Colourful dar with old traditional elements

In the heart of the medina of Fez, in the alleys of Zkak Lbral near Derb El Khali, lies this traditional Dar of 90 m². A house that takes you back in time, with the artisanal richness of days gone by.

 

You enter through a single private entrance and find yourself immediately in the patio, where light falls from above and the spaces unfold around it. What stands out right away is the colourfull stucco work that adorns the walls and passageways patterns in blue, green and ochre, applied by hand, the kind you only find in the medina of Fez. The wooden beam ceilings, the wrought-iron windows and the artisanal finishes give the house a distinct character.

 

The Dar is spread over the ground floor, a mezzanine, the first floor and a terrace. There are six large rooms and two smaller ones, along with one kitchen and one staircase connecting the levels. On the terrace, you look out over the rooftops of the medina a place to sit, to dry, to breathe, in the rhythm of the city.

 

The Dar has not been renovated and requires work, but the base is traditional and solid. This is a house with a clear story: an authentic property full of colour and character, ready to be brought back to life, in one of the most atmospheric spots of the medina.
